might have to look up on the map. Located in the Northeast of Europe you will find between Estonia, Belarus, Rusland en Lithuania de Baltische staat Letland.

Latvia quick facts:

Latvia, together with the other Baltic states, was part of the Soviet Union

Its 1 hour later then Western-Europe

1/3 of the population lives in Riga, the rest is a sparsely populated country. As the largest city in the Baltic states, this city is very distinctive from the other Baltic capitals. In Riga we got the feeling of being in a large metropolis. From the lively city center with its fantastic restaurants and bars, to the beautiful Art Nouveau architecture just outside the city. And the amazing brutalist Soviet architecture with associated Babushka market halls. The capital Riga is a wonderfully lively city that, in our case in a gray February, should always be a worthy city trip. In winter it is also a perfect winter trip, because of its northern location snow can quickly fall here, which makes for a nice combination during a city trip. The city is compact enough to be seen in 2 full days.

Explore the beautifull city centre of Riga
